Dawn Feagans Pendergast - Class of 1986
Looking forward to reconnecting with many SYC friends and coaches. SAFA is a great idea. Thanks to all who got it up and running.
Julie Peters Akey - Class of 1989
Since graduating from Sycamore in 1989, I served in the US Army as an Arabic/Spanish/French translator, I taught ESL and Geography at Hawaii Pacific University, and I started a Spanish-teaching business called Sol Spanish School. Most recently, I've been dedicated to helping the impoverished country of Haiti by volunteering as an English teacher and raising money to rebuild an elementary school that was destroyed in the 2010 earthquake. I believe in helping Haiti through better education, not just handouts, so my newest project is constructing a non-profit science-focused junior high school for Haitian children so they can learn real-life useful skills to help improve their own country. To see photos and read more you can check out my personal project blog at ProjectEnglishCurriculumHaiti.blogspot.com
Kris Titko - Class of 1985
While keeping my podiatry practice going strong, I have just graduated from the Keller Graduate School of Management with my MBA degree. I went to night school for 3 years, graduated top of my class and was honored to give the commencement speech!! What a thrill !!
